Registering for Events

How do I register for the events??

If you attend: Brandeis University, Carnegie Mellon University, Case Western Reserve University, George Washington University, Hobart and William Smith Colleges,  Ithaca College, Johns Hopkins, Pomona College, Sarah Lawrence College, Skidmore College, St. Lawrence University or University of Rochester – Login to your campus Handshake system, search for the events, job postings and interviews right in your campus Handshake system!

If you attend:  Tufts University – Use this link to access your school specific system, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Click here if you attend: Boston College, Colgate University, University of Notre Dame, University of Southern California or Washington University in St. Louis.

    1. Click “Sign up for an account” and create a Student account with your college email address by clicking Student/Alumni and then “Register a New Account” at the bottom. Registrations without a college email address will be declined.
    2. Confirm your email address – Watch for an email from Handshake so you can confirm your address.
    3. PLEASE NOTE! Using your college email address will auto-approve your account. Any account requests using a non-university email address will be declined.

If you had an account last year for CICs you can use the same account, so login with your email and/or click “forgot password” to reset it.

Complete your profile

    1. – Once your account is confirmed, you should update/complete your profile, particularly your grad date, student class year, and college. The Career and Internship Connection will be listed as your “Primary education” because that’s where your Handshake account is registered through, and the data under that entry is what is used to qualify you for jobs (including major and GPA). Please indicate your home institution under the “College” section. You can choose to also list your college separately on your profile, but it’s not necessary.

  1. Register for the NYC CIC event, view and apply for internship/job postings, and also put your resume into the various resume books for the city you are attending.
